Dear Fellowship Family:
Please pray for the needs listed below for Pastor Shannon and Michelle Carrier, their daughters, and mother.
Hello everyone, I pray this finds everyone doing well. We had our appt. with the neurosurgeon today and it seemed to go positvely well.
Our doctor is refering us to his coworker at Scottish Rite Hospital (hopefully next week). They are going to do what they call conductive nerve testing to see if the nerves will respond to the magnetic pulses, this is what we are praying for, because if her nerves respond it just means that they are just taking a longer time to heal and that would be good; 2nd diagnosis is if her nerves do not respond then they will need to do invasive surgery to see if the nerves became disconnected from the spinal cord and if that is the case he thinks since it is affecting the whole arm it is about 5-6 nerves and they would just reconnect them and go from there to see if that had any response; 3rd diagnosis would be if they went in there and the nerves were still connected to the spinal cord then that would mean the nerves were damaged and they would need to then think about putting in new nerves to make things work again. They will also be doing a sonagram on her shoulder because it looks like it might have become dislocated or is trying to due to the muscles not being able to hold it up. She will still continue to do physical therapy right now, and they too are waiting to see what is the outcome so that they can take different measures on how to do her therapy. Scottish Rite is a hard hospital to get in quickly, but he said he was going to personally call his collegue and try to get her in next week. Her spirits are up and she doesn't seem to be in as much pain as she was though so that is good. She still wants to do everything herself and is very independant and just picks her arm up if she need to move it.
As far as mom, we still do not know if she has more than just cracked ribs and pelvis. She is still on a walker but seems to be getting around pretty good. We will pray that things are just cracked and not broken and although painful we would just have to wait for it to heal.
The girls have survived thier first week of school and seemed to be enjoying it. Kayla and Sierra both have been writing songs totry and deal with things and some of them aren't too bad; some of them have questions, but they also have words stating trust and security in their Lord, so that is refreshing.
Shannon and I are doing pretty good, we do have some bad days, but for the most part its almost like that song that we were all taught when we were little goes through our heads "He's got the whole world in His hands". Again, we hope and pray that all of you know how much we love and appreciate each one of you! I am looking forward to the day when I am writing you saying Bella woke up with full use of her arm. :) Love you all!
In His Love,
Michelle
